The Alliance to End Plastic Waste

Client: American Chemistry Council

In the fall of 2018, Weber Shandwick partnered with the American Chemistry Council to help create a new non-profit coalition; The Alliance to End Plastic Waste. This new organization is made up of nearly 30 companies that have committed more than $1 billion, with the goal of investing $1.5 billion over the next 5 years to help end plastic waste in the environment.

Shown below are some highlights of what was created to launch the Alliance in January of 2019.

In 2019, the campaign kicked off with a Go-Live event broadcast from London, with more than 1.5 million viewers tuning into the live broadcast. After the launch, the campaign would go on to win the 2019 Gold Sabre Award, in addition to PR Week’s 2020 award for Best in Corporate Branding.
